3 Relationships That Empower Your Life
A great example of relationships that empower is told by Willie Morris in Parade magazine. The story is about major league baseball player Jackie Robinson.Jackie Robinson was the first black man to play major league baseball. Breaking baseball’s color barrier, he faced jeering crowds in every stadium. While playing one day in his home stadium in Brooklyn he committed a critical error. The fans began to ridicule him. He stood at second base humiliated. As the fans jeered shortstop Pee Wee Reese walked over put his arm around Jackie Robinson and faced the crowd and continued to stand there until the fans grew quiet. Robinson later said that arm around his shoulder saved his career.
Betrayal is Within Us
We all get betrayed in life and it’s usually an innocent thing. The other person had no idea what they were doing would be seen as a betrayal by you. Trust me; you just aren’t that important to most people. The most important person is that person only, when you come right down to it. That’s the way it should be; we can all only work on ourselves and have no right to foist our ‘shoulds’ on someone else. Dependent children and pets aside, we need to learn to keep our noses on our own faces.
Helping Others and How it Helps You Feel Good About Yourself
I was born with the helping-others gene, and now at almost 66 years old (and that is very hard for me to say…66 years old, when I feel so young!) I am looking back at my life and am seeing that a big part of it was spent helping others. There have been many instances that I have very vivid memories of. I remember when I was in public school, (I do not remember exactly what age I was) but I remember this part of the story as if it was yesterday. I even remember the persons’ name I am referring to; it was Howard Schulman. He and his mom had moved around the corner from where we lived in Brooklyn, New York. Howard was tall and gawky that is how I remember him. He was very nice, very smart, but not very athletic. And there is where the difference was between him and me. I was a very good athlete. It made no difference what the sport was… I was good at it. I was not a very good student because I cared about sports, not scholastics.
Expression is Positive – How to Relax, Come in Contact With the World and Naturally Meet Friends
(This article is a quick little reminder for those who feel intimidated by the thought, and action, of expressing themselves; that expression is always good, and, as when you do, you connect to the people, and the world around you.)
The Value of a Friend
One of the most intriguing things in the modern cities is the price of the land. In Delhi for example, the price of the land could be as high as Rs 250,000 (US$ 600) per square feet in the posh residential area and even many times more in a commercial area. The land prices may be thousands of time lesser in smaller cities in India and many hundred thousand times lesser in rural India. You can perhaps buy a village in the same price which is needed to buy only few hundred square feet of land in Delhi.
