Conflict Communication and What You Can Do About It

Conflicts often happen in any form  of relationship. Whether it be in anintimate relationship between a husband and wife, work colleagues, boss with workers, friend and friend, parents and children, teacher and student, brother and brother, and many other relationships. But even with the existence of problems, there are numerous good ways for conflict communication resolution.

There are many different ways to resolve an existing conflict. To achieve a successful resolution of the problem,you can use conflict resolution strategies that have been tried and tested before. Assertive communication is only one aspect of this and should take account of the circumstances .

Identify the Problem

This is the first step that would help in resolving any conflict communication . Discuss the problem with the other parties . This stage is to allow everyone to speak about what is bothering them . Hear what the other person is saying , while expecting to be heard too. Point out things that have influenced the issues  between you. Listen actively.

Being solution focussed

Having identified the cause of your issues, you have to identifypossible solutions that would resolve the conflict. This will be the phase where you try to compile points you are in agreement with then generate a list of as many initiatives as you can. Your goal is to create as many different answers as you can aiming for  the largest number of solutions. Do this,  rather than seeking quality during this phase, for solving the problem. In spite of how feasible they might appear to be.

After doing so, review the list, one by one, of probable solutions to the  problem you have by considering the pluses and minuses.Do this until you havereduced the options to one or two ways of handling the problem of conflict communication.

Once finished narrowing down the list, decide on the answer that would very likely solve the conflict at hand. As long as the solution is fair for all concerned, and the deal is acceptable to both, then any disagreement will be rapidly removed.

Conflict in communication should be seen as a means to enhance relationships by { having clear honest and open communication } finding out a conflict, giving solutions to it and building stronger and better relationships.
