How to Relax and Enjoy Your Wedding Day

If you’re in the stages of planning a big wedding, then you may be wondering how everything will come together on the big day, some people may even be nervous or concerned about how certain aspects, or even guests will work out.

There a few suggestions we can make to help minimize areas of concern for your wedding day, with the hope that you can remain calm, relax, enjoy and remember every moment of it.

Firstly, ask your best man to keep an eye on any wedding guests who may enjoy themselves a little too much, that is assuming your best man is intelligent enough not to get carried away himself.
Should you have a guest who you think may somehow spoil a perfect day, have a brief chat with your best man a few days before, explain the situation and ask them to have a quiet word with the individual if necessary.
Remember, wedding guests should always be your nearest and dearest friends and relatives, but every wedding will have someone who is not too familiar with wedding etiquette. So do not worry about individuals, they will not want to spoil your day.

If you are concerned about wedding services such as photographers or videographers who you may of hired, then ensure well before the wedding that you ask them what will happen if an emergency arrives and they are unable to attend your wedding. All good wedding services will have associates within the industry who can step in, should the worst happen.
Get the phone number of their back up person, and ask a parent, or the best man to keep hold of it. Perhaps even give your best man’s mobile phone number to your hired wedding professionals, that way, if there is an issue, you may not even know about it, and therefore not care.
Remember, if you have doubts about the reliability of any wedding professionals, then do not book them in the first place.

We’ve spoken a lot of giving responsibility to your best man on the day, but what if you are concerned about a speech he is planning. The role of the best man is to look after the groom during the day, usually he is an old friend who has plenty of stories to share on the groom.
If you feel he may be planning a speech that is risqué, or may offend parents or any of the wedding guests, then you must speak to him beforehand. If you feel you don’t want to upset him, by telling him what he should or shouldn’t be saying during his speech, then perhaps a subtle warning from your father or a respected wedding guest will do.

Some brides spend weeks worrying about the weather. There is little point doing this, as there is nothing you can do about it anyway. Our suggestion is to ensure that you choose a wedding venue that would be perfect whatever the weather. Look for two places at the venue where you could hold your official photographs, one outside if the sun is shining, and one pleasant corner indoors, just in case.
Nice staircases, or in front of floral bouquets make great settings for indoor wedding photos.

Lastly, depending on budget their are two options well worth considering to help minimize any stress for the bride and groom on the wedding day. You could hire a wedding planner. Obviously this option pushes up the price of your wedding, but if you want to let someone else worry about the proceedings, then a wedding planner is the ultimate answer.
Another option is to hire a toastmaster. These guys do an awful lot more then just introduce the speeches, they will inform wedding guests of what is going on, and ensure that timings of the day are met. A good toastmaster is always on hand to help with organisation and co-ordination of your wedding.

So, there are a few useful tips if you are currently planning your wedding, and have some areas of concern for your wedding day.
The most important day of your life, should also be the happiest and most memorable, so relax and enjoy yourself.
