You can decrease his fear of marriage by giving him all the space he needs. If you invade his space, he’ll get annoyed by you. Chances are he might even leave you for another woman. He’ll only get serious if you demand respect from him. Men don’t want a doormat for a wife. Its one thing to submit to your husband, but it’s another thing to let him use you. Why would he respect you if you don’t make him? He’d only do that if he felt guilty for mistreating you. Unfortunately, most men don’t.
Men love their freedom; he’ll appreciate it if you don’t always keep tabs on him. As long as he comes home at a decent time, you shouldn’t worry about him. While he’s out with his friends, you should be out with your family. Family time is very important because they’ll be there for you when you need them. You shouldn’t always bring him around them because there are times he’ll want to spend time with his. To make a marriage work, you have to make a lot of agreements. The reason most marriages don’t work is for lack of cooperation.
It’ll be challenging in the beginning, but it’ll get easier with time. There is nothing easy about being married. I know how it is because my mom has been married twice and she suffered in both of her marriages. If you’re serious about this, focus on yourself and he’ll start chasing after you. The less needy you act, the more he’ll want you. He might even go window shopping for an engagement ring. Don’t get mad at him if he didn’t buy you the ring you wanted. He probably couldn’t afford your ideal ring. Just praise him for his effort and he’ll go through with his plan.
If he still hasn’t popped the question, don’t show him how sad you are. It probably doesn’t make sense to some of you, but this is a bad move to make. Men don’t like it when women express true sadness. This becomes annoying to them very fast because they’ll think you’re acting infantile. All you have to do is act normal, and enjoy the good times you have together.
