While everyone of us has a distinct personality and character traits and we are indeed, all unique in one way or the other, fundamentally each member of the male species falls into one of two categories. You can interpret whether he is an alpha male or a beta male and pick up on these male characteristics as you decide which is more appealing to you.
While many in business think that alpha male characteristics are much more appropriate, in life each type of characteristic has its appeal to different women. In this respect, one is not better than the other, but you just need to decide which is more appropriate for you and your needs.
To distinguish between an alpha male and a beta male, many people say that the former is far more calm and composed than the latter. The alpha does not need to be reassured all the time and can sometimes be viewed as conceited. While he’s used to getting his own way, he won’t show a fit of rage if he doesn’t!
You can sometimes recognize beta male characteristics when you see that someone is being particularly argumentative or antagonistic to during a conversation of some kind. It is often said that this person is weaker than the alpha counterpart and when it comes to taking the lead in the conversation, they often draw back.
It easy to jump to a preconceived notion when trying to categorize as an alpha male or a beta male. If one guy is looking for reassurance of some kind or asks questions such as “what do you think,” you might say that he is somewhat unsure of himself, but it might be that he just wants to be inclusive. He may be worried about another person’s feelings and should not be categorized in this way.
When you come across some one who is trying to dominate and to be seen as better than someone else, you may initially think the guy is an alpha male trying to be assertive, but in fact he is displaying the beta male characteristics. Symptoms you see this where the person is a manager of some kind and is trying to use his position and not personality to succeed. Conversely, the alpha goes about things in a much different way as he realizes he does not need to be assertive to get things done.
It is up to you to decide whether beta male characteristics or alpha male alternatives are for you. Truly alpha male personalities are few and far between, although there are plenty of each within society as a whole. You probably don’t need to research when it comes to choosing your partner!
When trying to attract a guy’s attention, it can be frustrating when he doesn’t appear to notice you. You don’t know whether he’s not attracted to women at all, is just being polite or is displaying true alpha male characteristics. In this case, you would know that he doesn’t need to act this way to show interest in every attractive woman that goes by. Difficult to decide?
