1. Not ordering enough Invitations:
This is an all too common mistake made by busy brides. More often that not, we have found that there are usually last minute or forgotten guests who need a last minute invite. We suggest you order roughly 5-10 spare invitations with your order to avoid any delays or potential surcharges with your stationery provider. You can request for a blank space to be left on the spare invitations and fill the guest names in later.
2. Wording of Parent Invitations
For invitations which are written in such a way that the wedding is being hosted by one or two sets of parents, it might be wise to consider different invitation wording for the parent invites only, if you choose to send your parents their own wedding invitations. Otherwise, we would have a case of your parents inviting themselves to the wedding. This is often overlooked but definitely something which should be considered.
3. Failing to proof-read
Proof reading your wedding invitation wording and checking that all names, dates and places are correct and checking for any grammatical errors is vital. A good idea is to get someone else to read through the final wording before submitting it in for printing. Sometimes, small errors may not be picked up by yourself.
4. Not providing sufficient postage when mailing your invitation
Be sure to weigh your invites at the Post Office before you actually send them out. After all, you don’t want an insufficient postage stamp to appear on your invites as well as the possibility of the invitation never reaching its destination.
